Making a Desire2Learn Course Active (Including Dates For Activation)

To make your Desire2Learn course active so students can view the content you need to make a change on the “Course Offering Information” page in your course tools area.  Dates can be entered as well so you can schedule the availability date of your course.  To activate (or deactivate) your course, click on the “Course Offering Information” link in your course tools area (edit course).

In the “Active” section of the page, put a check mark in the box in front of “Course Is Active.”  Then in the “Start Date” and “End Date” sections time and dates can be entered to automate the open and closing of your course.  Keep in mind that even if you have dates listed the course will not be available unless you have checked the “Course is Active” checkbox.  You do not have to use both a starting and ending date; they can be used in any combination.

After adjusting your settings, click the blue “Save” button to update your settings and then the “Cancel” button to exit the “Course Offering Information” page.
